Alerts and Notifications in Virto Calendar App

Virto Calendar App displays information from various sources in one place. Therefore, notifications on upcoming events or alerts on some changes in the calendar depend on the source.

Here, we will describe how you can set up and manage these notifications in different sources.

SharePoint List

To set up your SharePoint list alerts, open your Lists app and go to the “Alert me” menu by clicking the three dots on the ribbon.

In the pop-up, you will see all available alert settings. You can receive alerts by email or by SMS. You can also choose different conditions for which you want to receive alerts.

Using Virto Alerts & Reminder App for SharePoint Lists

Virto Alerts & Reminder App allows you to create custom alerts, reminders, notifications, and summary emails. In addition, you can define cases in which you or your team will get email notifications. For example, you can create email templates that will be sent out to specific users when certain list changes are made or a deadline is approaching. The app can also send a “newsletter”, like a summary email every day, week, month, or once any other period.

Unfortunately, it is currently impossible to set up notifications of any changes made in external calendars so that you can receive them in the Microsoft ecosystem.

You can display external iCal data sources with view-only mode.

Microsoft Planner

To set up notification settings in Planner, go to the Planner app and click the gear icon on the ribbon. Then click “Notifications.”

Notifications settings in Planners include email and mobile push notifications. Tick the box to choose the desired settings and click “Save.”

Exchange Calendar

If you want to configure notifications from your Exchange Calendar, be it your personal calendar, shared calendar, or group calendar, go to your Outlook settings, click the gear icon on the ribbon, and click “View all Outlook settings” at the bottom.

Go to “General => Notifications” and find all the notification settings, like in-app and desktop pop-ups, for incoming emails and events.

In “Calendar => Events and invitations” settings, you can find default reminder settings that will pop up in Microsoft Teams.
