You can create an unlimited number of calendars with multiple data sources.

Exchange Online calendars#

With Virto Calendar App, you can combine any number of Exchange Online shared and personal calendars into a single calendar. This is the fastest way to create a calendar overlay because no special fine-tuning is required for this data source.

Outlook Group Calendar

If you are a member of many groups, this method is the best choice for achieving a clear visual distinction. With it, you can view group events (for your Outlook groups) separately and overlay or turn them off at any time.

To set up a separate calendar view for a user group from Outlook, follow these steps:

Open Outlook in your browser.
Go to ‘Groups’ in the left pane menu and locate the group you want to add. Click on it and copy its email address.

Resource calendars

Virto Calendar App supports adding resource calendars to a single calendar view. Resource calendars are primarily used for managing and scheduling shared resources within an organization. They allow users to book and track the availability of various assets or spaces.

To add resource calendars to your Virto calendar, click the calendar name to open its settings.

Scroll down to “Exchange settings” and type in your company or team’s email address(es) used for booking resources.

Public Folders

Public folders can also be added to Virto Calendar App as a data source. If you’re using public folders (created in the Exchange admin center), you can overlay them with your Virto calendar.

First, click the calendar name.

In Edit calendar, scroll down to “Exchange settings” and check the box “Display events from Public Folders Calendar(s).”

Next, save and open the calendar, and the added public folders will appear.

Microsoft Planner

Virto Calendar App supports adding tasks from Microsoft Planner to your Virto calendar for efficient collaboration and team planning.

To achieve this, navigate to the Virto Calendar App settings by clicking on the calendar name.

In Edit calendar, Scroll down to “Exchange settings” and check the box “Display tasks from MS Planner.”

To view a specific planner, choose “Specified” in “Display available plans” and use the search bar to find a planner.

Internet Calendars (iCalendar Feed, Google Calendar)

The list of available calendars appears in the “Available calendars” section in the Virto Calendar App settings. To add a new calendar, click “Create New” and choose (or create) a data source as described in the “Adding a New Data Source” section.

In this way, you can create multiple calendars with various combinations of data sources and switch between them without needing to open the settings again.
